Good morning, Arlington.

If your weekend plans are still blank, this is a particularly good week to keep them local without spending much. Downtown has a free arts festival, Levitt has live music Friday and Saturday, and there are easy options for families, sports fans, and anyone who just wants to get out of the house.

Here are the Arlington plans worth knowing.

West Main Street turns into a walkable arts district Saturday with 70+ artist booths, live music stages, food trucks, and interactive art.

When: Saturday, Sept. 19, noon–6 p.m.
Where: West Main Street in Downtown Arlington, between City Hall and Levitt Pavilion

This is the easiest all-ages pick of the weekend. Go earlier if you want time to browse the artists before the evening concert crowd starts gathering nearby.

Arlington Parks is hosting a relaxed evening at Cliff Nelson’s pond. Fishing poles are available first come, first served, so arriving early is the move. The event is free and open to all ages.

Make it a free Friday night on the lawn. The evening starts with a youth spotlight at 7:10 p.m., Grupo Pression performs at 7:30, and Tejano favorite Jay Pérez takes the stage at 8:30.

9 a.m.–1 p.m. — Downtown Arlington Farmers Market. Browse local produce, baked goods, and artisan vendors at Front and Center Streets. Entry and nearby public parking are free. Market details

10 a.m.–1 p.m. — Preparedness in the Park. Arlington emergency officials will show families how to build a 72-hour kit, make a household plan, and use local alert systems. The first 25 guests who complete every booth and a bingo card receive a free emergency kit, while supplies last. Event details

Noon–6 p.m. — West Main Arts Festival. Walk the art booths, hear live music, and grab food from local vendors.

7:10 p.m. — Blue Tongue at Levitt Pavilion. Patrick Pombuena Community Orchestra opens at 7:30 p.m., followed by Austin funk-fusion band Blue Tongue at 8:30. Admission and parking are free. Official concert page

8 p.m. — Free UFC 331 watch party. Sports & Social at Texas Live! is showing Van vs. Pantoja 2 with free entry. Food, drinks, and games are optional purchases. Watch-party details

The Cowboys host Washington at AT&T Stadium Sunday at 3:25 p.m.

If you are going to the game, plan ahead for the Entertainment District. If you are not, Texas Live! has its Dallas–Washington game-day event listed from 9 a.m., with table reservations available.

Levitt Pavilion’s fifth annual Hispanic Heritage Celebration is set for Saturday, Oct. 3, from 4–10 p.m. The free, family-friendly program includes a vendor market, mariachi, Aztec dance, salsa, and live Latin music.
