ARLINGTON'S WEEKEND, SORTED

Thursday, October 29, 2026 · Dream City Daily

Hey, Arlington.

Halloween has landed on a Saturday, and Arlington is giving us a pretty unusual choice: a free Renaissance faire and Macbeth downtown, a pumpkin patch that floats, or a party where your ticket comes with three cocktail tokens.

Rain is the wildcard this weekend, so keep an indoor backup in mind.

In this issue: Three picks worth your weekend · Rain outlook and show updates · A $0 family Halloween plan · Free city recycling · 9 more weekend ideas · Arlington trivia

THREE PICKS WORTH YOUR WEEKEND

1. Free Renaissance faire by day, Macbeth by night

Saturday's biggest free doubleheader is in Downtown Arlington. Shakespeare LIVE!'s inaugural RenFest brings an artisan market, costumed performers and live entertainment to Levitt Pavilion, then a free outdoor performance of Shakespeare's Macbeth follows at 7 PM.

When: Saturday, October 31 · RenFest noon–6 PM; Macbeth 7 PM (also staged Thursday and Friday at 7 PM).
Where: Levitt Pavilion, 100 W. Abram St.
Cost: Free admission to both; food and vendors extra.

Bring a blanket or lawn chairs. Macbeth has mature themes; best for teens and up. The afternoon festival is the better choice for younger children.

Weather updates: Levitt calendar and socials, plus @shakespearelive_arlington.

2. The floating pumpkin patch — at an indoor pool

For a Friday plan that doesn't depend on dry grass, Arlington's Harvest Splash puts pumpkins in East Indoor Pool. Young participants can pick one from the water, decorate it and use the photo booth.

When: Friday, October 30 · starts 6 PM.
Where: East Library & Recreation Center, 1817 New York Ave.
Cost: $14 per participant; advance registration required. All participants must register; check available age categories and booking rules on the registration page.

An adult must enter the water with non-swimmers, children ages 3–5 and anyone wearing a life jacket.

3. Halloween party tickets include three cocktail tokens

Texas Live!'s Dance of the Dead has a less obvious perk: general admission includes three event cocktail tokens, according to the organizer's FAQ. It also promises six themed venues, music by Sam Blacky and other DJs, and a costume contest with a share of $5,000 in prizes.

When: Saturday, October 31 · 8 PM–2 AM.
Where: Texas Live!, 1650 E. Randol Mill Rd.
Cost: $30 general admission in advance / $35 on event day, including three event cocktail tokens. 21+; bring a valid government-issued photo ID.

WEATHER LOOKOUT: KEEP FRIDAY FLEXIBLE

  • Thursday: 82° / 65° · Mostly cloudy; 20% chance of afternoon showers, 30% tonight.

  • Friday: 75° / 61° · Cloudy; 30% chance of showers by day, 50% Friday night.

  • Saturday: 77° / 61° · Mostly cloudy; 40% chance of showers, mainly before 1 PM. Mostly cloudy Saturday night.

  • Sunday: 81° / 65° · Partly sunny; mostly cloudy overnight.

Our weekend call: Friday night and Saturday morning carry the main rain risk. Saturday evening looks drier in the latest forecast, but check conditions and organizer updates before heading out. Keep an indoor backup.

Forecast checked Thursday, October 29, 2026, using the National Weather Service Arlington forecast updated at 6:06 AM CDT.

UNDER $50: YOUR $0 FAMILY HALLOWEEN PLAN

You do not need a paid haunted house to make Saturday count. Arlington Highlands has free Tricks & Treats from 11 AM–2 PM, with candy at participating stores while supplies last, DJ entertainment and Halloween photo opportunities. Bring a candy bag and costumes. There's also a free one-mile Lululemon Costume Family Fun Run beginning at 10:30 AM; separate registration is offered for the run.

After that, leave time for traditional neighborhood trick-or-treating Saturday evening.

Important: Arlington, Texas has not published one universal citywide door-to-door trick-or-treating window. Check your HOA or neighborhood's guidance and plan around conditions. For safety, Arlington's transportation team advises reflective costumes or glow sticks, sidewalks, crosswalks, and extra care around parked cars.

If it rains: Wait for an actual dry break or shorten the outdoor walk; don't assume skies will clear by dusk.
